🔔 Big News for Swiss Families and Retirees in 2025! 🔔 Starting next year, Switzerland will roll out significant changes to pensions, family allowances, and tax deductions, easing financial pressures as inflation impacts real wages. Here’s a breakdown of the upcoming benefits : 🌟 Pensions and Disability Payments: The minimum monthly first-pillar pension (AHV/OASI) will increase by 35 francs, reaching 1,260 francs. All pensioners will see a 2.9% rise, with maximum pensions moving from 2,450 to 2,520 francs per month. Plus, starting in 2026, retirees will get a 13th month of AHV – an annual boost of at least 1,260 francs! 👨‍👩‍👧 Family Allowance: Families with children will benefit too! For the first time since 2009, the statutory minimum family allowance will increase by 7.1% – meaning parents receive 215 francs monthly for each child (up from 200 francs). For dependents in education, it rises to 268 francs per month. 💸 Federal Tax Adjustments: Federal tax brackets are moving upwards in 2025, lowering tax rates across the board and allowing taxpayers to keep more of their hard-earned money. The tax-free allowance rises to 15,200 francs for single filers and 29,700 francs for married couples. Additionally, those with children or dependents will benefit from an increased deduction of 6,800 francs per year. 📅 When to Expect These Changes? Medium, small, micro.... and powerful. 🍪 Accounting Snack for small and medium enterprises. In Switzerland, 99,7% of all enterprises employ on average less than 250 employees and are classified as Small- or Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The most significant growth in the past 13 years was recorded among SMEs active in the health industry. * What makes SME so powerful? They are: 🛴 Small, and therefore more agile, 🔗 Have local roots and are well connected to local communities,   👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 (in many cases) Family offices with strong ownership culture, 📊 Employ more than two thirds of all jobs in the economy, 🔬 Foster knowledge sharing and innovation by cooperation and networking with each other. Simply put, SMEs keep Swiss economy competitive, create healthy industrial mix and foster growth. 📖 And the IFRS bit? IASB has acknowledged SME`s limited resources [for preparation of financial records] by allowing SMEs without a public accountability to use a simplified form of IFRS named IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard. IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard is less complex in many ways: ✖ Topics not relevant for SMEs such as earnings per share, interim financial reporting and segment reporting are omitted. 🆒Numerous recognition and measurement principles are simplified. For example, SMEs are allowed to amortize goodwill, instead of testing it for impairment annually. 🆗 SMEs are also allowed to recognize all borrowing and development costs as expenses instead of capitalizing them as (in)tangible assets. ☑ SMEs are allowed to not consolidate associates at equity but and use cost method instead. ☑ SME are required to prepare significantly fewer (ca 90 per cent less) disclosures.
