Interview d²X consultant: Edouard Thillaye du Boullay

Edouard Thillaye du Boullay (d²X West) answered our questions about his experience at d²X.

Why did you join d²X?

I was contacted by a d²X recruitment officer via LinkedIn. At that time everything was going well for me professionally: I was working for a big ESN (more than 400 people in Nantes), I was satisfied with my employer and vice versa. So I didn't consider changing company.

From the very first phone conversation, I was intrigued by the concept of d²X "A human-sized ESN specialized in IT project management".

As the interviews progressed, I was won over by this model based on experienced consultants, in a horizontal organisation where everyone can contribute according to their skills. This aspect is facilitated by a startup spirit, i.e. without the cumbersome processes of a larger organisation.

 

What are d²X strengths ?

d²X's strength is based on its high added value consultants, who enable it to address key accounts, such as large NSEs, but without having the same commercial strength. Each consultant is a true ambassador of the d²X brand to the customers.

 

What are the specifics of your job?

As a Product Owner, I support clients by managing their IT projects. My ability to adapt and understand their business makes me the privileged contact between the internal contributors and the CIOs. My role is to fully understand the needs of the business lines and IT teams in order to offer them the best possible functionality while respecting their cost and deadline constraints.

 

What is your mission at the moment?

I am currently working for a postal service company. I work within the Technical Department as the Product Owner of the Organisation Address Repository. My role is therefore to maintain this repository in production and to enrich it with the new functionalities required to improve Automatic Envelope Sorting.

Previously, I worked for major accounts as a "Receipt Project Manager" and "Multi-application Project Manager", on a fixed-price or contract basis, at customers' premises or at a service centre.

 

What was your most emblematic mission at d²X?

My current assignment, as it is my first one since I joined d²X!

 

What makes the difference at d²X?

Contrary to my previous expériences, I intervene at my client's premises in total autonomy from d²X. My managers doesn’t abandons me -it is the contrary !-, I benefit from his support but he trust me . I am free to identify new customer needs, to report them to my manager and to decide with him and the client to broaden my scope of action.

I can also count on the d²X team to find me a new assignment in line with my expectations, if I wish to change or if the current mission is ending.

To be an ”ambassador” is really appreciated and different from what I have experienced so far. »
